DJI showcases a solution 100% dedicated to agriculture
DJI unveils a new drone dedicated to the agricultural world. The Agras T20 is a drone that can be folded and unfolded in a few seconds which can carry out spreading and sowing missions with a cover of 12 hectares of land per hour thanks to its 20 liter tank. Programmed in advance, the Agras T20 operates autonomously and automatically bypasses obstacles encountered in its path.
The Agras T20 drone, which folds and unfolds in seconds, can be programmed in advance to operate autonomously on a given task. Thanks to its omnidirectional digital radar, it can reproduce the scene in 360 ° and in 3D, which allows it to detect obstacles in all directions and automatically bypass them.
POSSIBILITY TO CONTROL THE DRONE AT NIGHT
Dust and water resistant, the drone can fly in most environments even at night. Thanks to an FPV camera and two projectors, the user can control the view of the drone in real time even at night through the programmable controller Agras Smart Controller 2.0. The latter is composed of an ultra-bright 5.5-inch screen and a dedicated application. The maximum transmission distance of the drone is 3 kilometers if it is at an altitude of about 2.5 meters. DJI announces “a potential autonomy twice as long as other remote controls” with the possibility to connect the controller to an external battery.
Spreading and sowing can be ensured by the Agras T20 which is equipped with a replaceable 20L spray tank. DJI promises a spreading system 70 times faster than a manual method for direct seeding of grain thanks to a spray width of 7 meters and a coverage of 12 hectares of land per hour.
However, the Agas T20 only has an autonomy of 10 minutes for a weight of 42.6 kg (when its tank is full) .DJI assures that its battery can be changed easily, but this involves some preparation if the farmer does not want to waste too much time.
The drone is already available for pre-order. By coupling the Agras T20 with other solutions from DJI making it possible to precisely scan the field and analyze it, such as the RTK on board the Phantom 4 drone. The chinese manufacturer ensures that it is possible to limit the zones of spreading and watering only to areas of the field where that is necessary.
