Matrice 300 RTK

Intended for professional use and more particularly in the fields of inspection and safety, the DJI Matrice 300 RTK offers high performance and rock-solid reliability.

The DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone is capable of carrying up to three pods  including the  Zenmuse H20 and H20T , the Zenmuse P1 and Zenmuse L1 cameras   as well as other models such as the Z30, XT2 and XT S ( up to 2.7 kgs  maximum payload).

Equipped with all new TB60 batteries, it will guarantee you up to 55 minutes of autonomy (empty) or 45 minutes with a Zenmuse H20 (for example). The DJI Matrice 300 RTK is one of the most reliable drones on the market thanks to the redundancy of its components as well as the obstacle detection and positioning in 6 directions.

With new AI features such as Smart Pin & Track emergence and permitting diversity of actions particularly in the field of security, where you can follow subjects or objects in motion while transmitting contact information to several operators on the ground.

The DJI Matrice 300 RTK adopts a new look that sets it apart from its predecessors: an inverted propeller-motor combo and the drone CPU on top.

A new version among the DJI Matrice family

2020 marks the arrival of this new edition in the DJI Enterprise range of drones and more particularly in the Matrice family. After the development of the Matrice 100 and then Matrice 200, DJI perfected its preferred model to create this new drone dedicated to safety and inspection missions carried out by professionals. DJI has never ceased to develop the safety of its machines to ensure such a reliable system for people but also for the data conveyed there.

The DJI Matrice 300 RTK has been tested and proven by teams that fight wild forest fires in Foshan, China, but also by high-voltage line inspection professionals from the company Valmont. In the first case, the drone positioned high up and away from the fire to alert the ground teams of the progress of the fires and to position the team members in the right place. In the second case, the drone makes it possible to approach the installations in complete safety in order to identify the faults and thus send the teams to the areas concerned.

A trio of battery, a radio control and a unique charging station

The DJI Matrice 300 RTK is equipped with new products that boost its use. Thus, with it comes the brand new TB60 battery, which has an increased autonomy due to its enormous capacity of 5935 mAh distributed over 12 cells. The TB60 battery is equipped with a self-heating function to allow good treatment of its energy in cold weather. The DJI Matrice 300 RTK accommodates two for its power supply. They deliver no less than 55 minutes of autonomy to the drone (when flying empty). Depending on the nacelle (s) chosen, the autonomy remains excellent. For example, once the new Zenmuse H20 gimbal is installed, you will be able to carry out your mission for 45 minutes.

Sold with a brand new remote control, the DJI Matrice 300 has video feedback directly on the remote control, allowing you to do without a smartphone or tablet. Taking the design and principle of the DJI Smart Controller remote control, the DJI Matrice 300 RTK is equipped with its “Enterprise” version, the look of which has been slightly modified. It allows 1080p video return (coupled with the OcuSync Enterprise transmission system) on three devices simultaneously. Thus, several operators can monitor and control the drone. This is a real plus for security missions where a number of people control a situation remotely. This DJI Smart Controller Enterprise has an internal battery that delivers 2.5 hours of battery life that can be extended to 4.5 hours by connecting a WB37 battery (those found in DJI Crystalsky displays).

DJI offers the possibility of storing and recharging all of your TB60 and WB37 batteries in a recharging case that you can take on all your missions. This BS60 charging station can accommodate a total of 12 batteries: 8 TB60 batteries and 4 WB37 batteries.

High performance and safety above all

The DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone is equipped with the OcuSync video transmission system (inherited from the Mavic and Phantom 4 Pro ranges of the brand) in its “Enterprise” version which promises 8 km of theoretical range (CE). It allows video return with low latency in HD quality (1080p). This Enterprise version allows three operators to view the video stream at the same time.

The drone relies on several collision and obstacle detection sensors arranged on its chassis, in different places. Thus, it allows detection in 6 directions: forward, backward, up, down, right and left. Six TOF sensors are placed and make it possible to evaluate the distance from an object or an approaching surface (from 0.6 to 40 meters depending on the position of the sensor). The behavior of these sensors can be adjusted to match certain locations and scenarios that you may encounter. The top and bottom of the drone are equipped with anti-collision beacons and an auxiliary light to illuminate the areas.

Component redundancy is one of the spearheads of the Matrice range at DJI. The DJI Matrice 300 RTK is no exception to the rule with many duplicated components: IMU, barometer, compass, RTK antenna, GNSS module and battery. Thus in the event of failure of the first component, the second immediately takes over to ensure a safe return of the drone. In the case of a faulty battery, the second draws on its power, the force to bring the drone back to its starting point. It is the same for the propellers, which will compensate three for the lack of the fourth. It is for this reason that the drone is equipped with the Health Management System (HMS) function, which allows a diagnosis and instantaneous feedback as soon as an element is faulty.

A large carrying capacity and an increased compatibility

The arrival of the DJI Matrice 300 RTK also marks the birth of two new gimbals / cameras: Zenmuse H20 and Zenmuse H20T. These powerful 20 Mpx cameras allow a large zoom (up to x23). The H20T version also has a thermal sensor. Thus, the DJI Matrice 300 RTK can carry up to three pods simultaneously (within the limit of a total weight of 2.7 kgs) because its flight order is limited to 9 kgs. Older gimbals are also compatible including the Zenmuse Z30, XT2 and XT S. The drone offers the possibility of installing two cameras on the bottom and one on the top of the chassis.

Two payloads were designed for the DJI M300 RTK and make it a tool of choice for photogrammetry: the Zenmuse P1 and Zenmuse L1 cameras. The DJI Zenmuse P1 camera gimbal is equipped with a 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. It delivers very detailed images with good dynamics and very little noise, allowing the images to be processed with precision and reliability. The Zenmuse L1 on the other hand includes three sensors: an extremely powerful LiDAR Livox Mid70, a 1-inch 20-megapixel sensor as well as a visual assistant that calculates the orientation of the L1 to take over in the event of loss of GNSS signal.

It is compatible with different development solutions such as mobile SDK, onboard SDK and payload SDK. This allows professionals to modulate the capabilities of the drone to be in accordance with the constraints of their profession. In addition to the software part, it will be possible to add various payloads such as a LED headlight, a megaphone, various specific sensors (methane, multispectral, gas detector, UV, etc.).

New smart features

The addition of new functions makes its appearance and makes it possible to put air intelligence at the service of the teams on the ground for the success of professional missions. Smart Pin and Track is compatible with Zenmuse H20 series cameras. PinPoint allows you to mark points of interest on the screen and keep them regardless of the drone’s movements. Once the point has been selected, the software will calculate its distance and adjust it in real time, according to the movements of the drone. This function also allows you to display your coordinates and transmit them to the teams on the ground. SmartTrack allows you to identify moving subjects such as people, cars or boats and gives you the possibility to be able to select them while letting the drone follow its movements. The gimbal will zoom in to keep the subject in the center of the action and will allow remote control at all times. SmartTrack also makes it possible to point the subject on a map and to transmit its position even if it is moving. These two functions can be performed and shared with a second operator or through DJI FlightHub.

SmartInspection is a mode that compiles several actions: Waypoints 2.0, Live Mission Recording and AI-Spot Check. We thus find an improved version of the Waypoints function well known to professionals to establish a precise flight plan. Live Mission Recording allows you to easily record your flight plans as you travel and the photos and videos you take, it’s a more intuitive way of doing things. AI-Spot Check meanwhile, will analyze and specify the plans to compare the photos taken during the flight and thus give the best possible result.

The High-Res Grid Photo mode allows you to select an area to photograph, the gimbal will then take a series of high definition zoomed shots to provide a final photo with a lot of detail, allowing you to obtain clear shots.

The PFD mode for Primary Flight Display makes it possible to modify the interface by adding additional navigation information such as the horizontal speed of the drone, the speed and direction of the wind, an altitude indicator, etc. In certain complicated situations, having a visual aid of various parameters makes it possible to better understand the mission.
