2020 was a year full of innovation in the field of professional drones.
On May 7, 2020, DJI presented the new flagship of its range of industrial drones: the Matrice 300 RTK. This new quadricopter, accompanied by a new series of nacelles (Zenmuse H20 and H20T), doubles: the flight time, the range and the number of obstacle sensors. It is mainly dedicated to the security, surveillance and inspection of infrastructures in sectors such as energy.
DJI also announced 2 new products compatible with the Matrice 300 for 3D modeling, they are:
- The Zenmuse L1, incorporating a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and two video sensors. It is the first LiDAR marketed by DJI. Thanks to its ability to reconstruct an environment in 3D, the DJI Zenmuse L1 offers particularly high-quality precision and density of points.
- The Zenmuse P1 includes a 45MP full frame sensor with interchangeable fixed focal length lenses on a 3-axis stabilized gimbal. Dedicated for photogrammetry flight missions, this camera takes efficiency and precision to a whole new level.
Latest novelty for this year announced by the Chinese drone manufacturer DJI: the Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced. This very versatile, compact and foldable drone contains many improvements and performances. It incorporates high resolution thermal and visual cameras. This mavic supports digital zoom up to x32 and is capable of centimeter accuracy with the RTK module. This product will be released in March 2021.
